Assigning students to rooms allows you to better track your student's activities across several brightwheel features such as reporting, logging activities, and tracking attendance and room changes throughout the day. You can easily edit and switch student classroom assignments as needed directly from their student profile!
Brightwheel allows you to assign as many rooms to any student as needed and students are only able to move to rooms they are assigned to.

Homeroom is a feature ensures a student is checked into this room by default if they are assigned to it.
Adding a Homeroom is a great way to make check-in for parents and staff.
For example, assigning "Room C" as a homeroom will ensure that the student is checked into that room rather than "Room A" | All other rooms a student is assigned to, this allows them to be moved, checked in and out of, and parents can receive messages from. |
💡 Switching student room assignments simply changes the room(s) a student profile appears in and is different from checking a student into a room or using the Move Room feature for attendance.
Assign and Manage Rooms On the Web
Log in to your account on the web
Click to expand My School and then select Students
Locate and click the specific student's profile
In the 'Rooms' box, click Edit
Use the drop-down menus to add a new homeroom or additional other rooms
Click X to remove any needed rooms from the 'Others' section
When finished, click Save
