View the Student Activity Feed
Contacts with Parent and Family-level access can effortlessly stay informed about their student's daily activities on brightwheel via the web and mobile app. The feed includes updates like pictures, videos, check-in/out records, potty breaks, and more.

View the Daily Activity Report
On the web, contacts with Parent and Family-level access can conveniently view a summary of activities logged for their student for the current day.
Log in to brightwheel on the web
Click on My Children, and click on the child’s name
Select the Daily Report tab from the top of the screen

Edit Profile Info & Contacts
Parent contacts granted edit permissions by their program can edit their child’s profile information, such as their name, birthday, or mailing address, and modify the child’s contact list.

Complete Forms & Requests
Families may be required to complete paperwork, such as contracts or enrollment forms, and send it back to the program. Through brightwheel, contacts with parent-level access can complete paperwork requests shared by administrators!

View Shared Documents
Parent level contacts can easily view documents shared by providers directly from the Documents section on a child’s profile! Quickly view important information shared such as handbooks, menus, or event flyers. When a new document has been shared, guardians will receive a message within brightwheel with a link to the individual document.
ℹ️ Not all providers utilize this feature so please contact an administrator if you are missing a Shared Document.
On the Web
Log in to brightwheel on the web
Click on My Children, and click on the child’s name
Select the Documents tab from the top of the screen
Select the document name to view the file
On the App
Tap the child's name to open their profile
Tap the Paperwork icon in the top row of your child's activity feed
Tap Documents
Select the document name to view the file
💡 If the provider requires you complete, sign and send a form in brightwheel, please refer to our Complete Forms with brightwheel resource. Forms such as Fillable Documents, Contracts, or Document Requests are different from shared Documents and Profile Attachments. Forms can be found under the Forms & Requests section for a child.
View Student Profile Attachments
Unlike Shared Documents that are shared program-wide, Student Profile Attachments are files tied to a student's profile, visible to connected parents and family-level contacts. Only program administrators can upload Profile Attachments. Parents can share files for upload by attaching them to Messages.
💡Please contact your program administrator if your child's profile attachments are missing, as not all programs use this feature.
Log in to brightwheel on the web
Click on My Children, and click on the child’s name
Select the Attachments tab from the top of the screen
Click Actions > Download next to the desired attachment
ℹ️ Student Profile Attachments cannot be viewed on the mobile app at this time.
Student Portfolios
View student portfolios created by your provider containing how your child is progressing in school. If created and shared by the provider, portfolios will typically contain previous activities and observations logged by staff.

Lesson Plans
Stay connected to what your child is learning directly from the brightwheel mobile app! If shared by the provider, Parent and Family-level student contacts can view Lesson Plans created by the program.

🚩Lesson Plans can currently only be viewed from the brightwheel app on a mobile device at this time.
