Who is brightwheel Academy for?

Brightwheel Academy is for brightwheel Premium subscribers including Administrators, Managers, and Teachers! It is also available to Guardians whose programs are using brightwheel.

We have exciting plans to expand our course library, offering feature-specific tutorials, and much more. So, stay tuned! 👀

How to Register

If you are a brightwheel Premium subscriber and in an Admin, Manager, or Teacher role or a guardian whose program is using brightwheel - follow the steps below to create your Academy account.

Open the registration page
Fill out the registration form:
1. Full Name: input your first and last name
2. Email Address: input your email address
  💡If you log in to your brightwheel account with an email address, use this same email to register for the academy!
3. Password: input a password of your choice
4. School Name: input the name of the school using brightwheel that you're associated with
5. User Type: select School Administrator or Teacher or Guardian
  💡If you are both a teacher AND a guardian using brightwheel and this is your first time registering, register as a Teacher.
Click Register
Once you're registered, you will automatically be logged in to your Academy account. Review the section on our Course Library below to learn more about what content is applicable to you.

How to Log In

Once you're registered, you can easily log in following the steps below.

Open the Login page
Input the email address associated with your academy account
Input your password
Click Login

Course Library

Our current content library contains courses and paths to help Admins and Teachers get started using brightwheel for the first time. As mentioned above, we have exciting plans to expand our course library, offering guardian training, feature-specific tutorials, and much more.

🏫 Admin Library

These are accessible from the Guided Learning page in brightwheel Academy. These learning paths are a collection of courses placed into a specific sequence to be the most helpful for you as you get started!

Getting Started with the Core Features and Billing: for administrators who are getting started setting up brightwheel's core features AND Billing at their program for the first time
Getting Started with the Core Features: for administrators who are getting started setting up brightwheel's core features only at their program for the first time
Getting Started with Billing: for administrators who are getting started setting up the Billing feature at their program for the first time

Steps to Enroll

Open the applicable path link above
Click Start
Click Get Started

📚 Teacher Library

These are accessible from the Courses & Resources page in brightwheel Academy within the Getting Started as a Teacher collection. These materials are stand-alone courses that cover all the important information teachers need to learn and practice as they begin using brightwheel!

Using brightwheel on a personal device: for teachers who are getting started using brightwheel and accessing it with their own login on their own device/a shared program device
Using brightwheel on a shared device: for teachers who are getting started using brightwheel but do not have their own login and are instead accessing it on a program device set in Room Device Mode by an administrator.

👨‍👩‍👦‍👦 Guardian Library

These are accessible from the Courses & Resources page in brightwheel Academy within the Getting Started as a Guardian collection. This is a stand-alone course that covers all the important information guardians (Parents, Family, and Approved Pickups) need to learn and practice using brightwheel!

Using brightwheel as a Guardian: for Parent, Family, or Approved Pickup contacts who are getting started using brightwheel to stay connected to their student. This course covers how to sign up, account walkthroughs, overviews of the most common features, and more.

Steps to Enroll

Certificates

Certificates are awarded to learners who complete the applicable Admin or Teacher getting started content that is outlined in the Course Library section above. These certificates are tangible recognition of your completion and can be a great way to showcase your skill progression using brightwheel!

Learn the ways you can view and share your certificates below.

📃 View and Share Certificates

Click your profile icon in the top right corner of the Academy
Select My Trainings from the menu
Under the 'Badges and Certificates' section, click on an earned badge to open the certificate
Share the certificate as needed:
1. To share a direct link:
  1. Click Copy Direct Link
  2. Paste and share the link as needed
2. To download/print the certificate:
  1. Click Download
  2. Save the PNG to your local computer or print it
3. To add to your personal LinkedIn profile:
  1. Click Add to LinkedIn
  2. All of the certificate details will auto-fill
  3. Click Save to add the certificate to your profile
  4. Choose to share the news with your network or Skip

Account Management

🔐 Reset a Forgotten Password

Open the Login page
Click Forgot password?
Input the email address used to register for the Brightwheel Academy account
Click Send Password Reset Link
Click Back to Login
Open your email inbox to locate the reset link
In the email, click Reset Password
Input a new password in the text box
Click Submit New Password
Sign in with your email address and newly set password!

🔏 Reset Password from Account

If you're logged in to brightwheel Academy and simply want to change your password, follow the steps below.

Click the profile icon in the top right corner of brightwheel Academy
Select Profile from the drop-down menu
Click the Reset Password option
Input the email address used to register for the Brightwheel Academy account
Click Send Password Reset Link
Click Back to Login
In the email, click Reset Password
Input a new password in the text box
Click Submit New Password
Use your email address and the newly set password at next login!

👀 View In Progress/Completed Trainings

Easily view Badges and Certifications, Stats, and any courses/paths you're enrolled in from the My Trainings page!

Select My Trainings from the drop-down menu
