To ensure on-time payments, we recommend providers require payers to enroll in automatic payments (autopay). This resource outlines how autopay functions and addresses common questions.

What is autopay?

This setting is turned on by default for new schools and guarantees that on the invoice due date, the payer will be charged automatically for the full balance due, including any past due balance.

When autopay is mandatory, payers are prompted to sign up for autopay when adding a payment method. You can require autopay for specific payers, which is especially helpful for families who often make late payments. Likewise, you can exempt certain families if needed.

ℹ️ To require autopay, visit Configuring Autopay Settings.

How autopay works

In order for autopay to go into effect for an invoice, the payer must have turned on autopay prior to the invoice sending and it remains on when the invoice is due.

On the due date of the invoice, the balance that is owed will be charged to the payer. Payers can select which payment method they wish to use for autopay in advance.

FAQs

Why was autopay not triggered for a payment?

Most likely autopay was not turned on prior to the due date of the invoice. Autopay should be turned on prior to the invoice sending for it to work. Similarly, if Autopay is turned off after an invoice sends, autopay will not be triggered for that invoice

To resolve this, payers can manually make a payment towards the amount due.

Can payers disable autopay?

If you require families to be enrolled in autopay, they cannot disable it once enrolled. If autopay is not required, they can disable it at any time.

How can I confirm a parent is using autopay?

The quickest way to check is by going to Billing > Students tab. You can search for a specific student name or scroll to locate the student.

If they have a payment method listed under 'Autopay.' they have enrolled that payment method in autopay.

This can also be viewed from a individual student billing profile under the Account details tab.
