If you are moving to brightwheel from another system, it is crucial to add any existing owed balances or credits. You can achieve this by adding a one-time charge or adding any outstanding credits for your students. This will ensure a smooth transition and helps maintain accurate financial records.
Add a starting balance
To add a current balance owed, you can create a one-time charge for the student. The charge will immediately post to the student's billing profile to be paid.
Log into brightwheel on the web
Click Billing from the sidebar menu
From the At a Glance tab, click Select an action > Add a one-time charge
Proceed through the remaining prompts to select student(s) and enter charge details
Click Create invoice
Add existing credits
If a student has an account credit that they can draw from for future charges, you can issue a standalone credit to the student's billing profile.
Log in to brightwheel on the web
Click Billing from the sidebar
Jump to the Students tab and select a student
Click Select an Action > Add a Credit
Enter the amount, reason, and optional notes
Click Save & Apply
Note: Credits aren't immediately applied to invoices, and can be manually allocated as needed. If not manually allocated, the credit will automatically apply to the next invoice for the primary payer. Learn more about Credits here.
