Sharing Menus with families and staff

Providers can share program menus with families and staff in brightwheel.


Share a menu

After you assign a menu template to a room, it’s instantly visible to Parent contacts and staff in that room. Any updates you make will automatically reflect for Parents and staff. Here's how to assign a template to a room so it's visible to your program:

  1. Log in on the web

  2. Go to My School > Menu in the sidebar menu > Menu templates

  3. Next to the template, click Actions > Assign to room

  4. Select the room(s) and date range, then click Save


Guardian and staff experience

Parent contacts and staff can view the menu in the Menus tab on the mobile app (next to Events in the Calendar view). Parents and non-admin staff can view menus but cannot edit them. If no menu is assigned, they’ll see a message indicating it’s unavailable.

They can:

  • See the current week’s meals

  • View meal types (Breakfast, Lunch, Snack)

  • Review meal names
