If staff canāt check in/out or you see an error āOpen timecardā or āThe staff member already has a timecard within this time period" the staff member likely forgot to check out, leaving an open or overlapping timecard.
š” Tip: Turn on Auto check out to automatically check out staff at midnight and prevent this issue in the future. Find this setting under School settings > School info.
Fix open timecard errors for staff
To fix this, an Administrator must close the open timecard by adding a check-out time. Once updated, the staff member can check in or out normally. When searching, filter for open timecards only and set the date range to all time, as some records could be months or years old.
Go to Staff > Time tracking on the web
Click Show only open timecards and filter dates by All time
Next to the timecard, select Actions > Edit
Add a check-out time or delete, then Save
