Learn how to create, edit, view, and assign Lesson plans

Providers can create Lesson plan templates and assigned as individual copies to specific rooms. Edits made to an assigned plan will not affect the original template, allowing for customized room-specific adjustments.

💡 Any staff role can take these actions.


Create a custom Lesson plan template

  1. Log in on the web

  2. Click Learning in the sidebar menu > Library

  3. Hit Create new > Lesson plan template

  4. Once created, you can hit Assign to room to share it out


Assign Lesson plans to rooms

Assigning a lesson to a room creates a unique copy that is independent of the primary copy. If you edit a lesson plan after it's assigned to a room, the edits will only apply to that room and will not impact the template.

  1. Log in on the web

  2. Click Learning in the sidebar menu

  3. Select Library > Lesson plan templates

  4. Click the desired template, then Assign to room

  5. Edit the lesson plan as needed


View Lesson plans assigned to rooms

Once a Lesson plan has been assigned to a room from a template, you can view the unique copy created from the Overview tab. You can view Lessons assigned for each month.

  1. Log in on the web

  2. Click Learning in the sidebar menu

  3. From the Overview tab, click through each month to view assigned Lessons

Edit a Lesson plan once it's assigned to a room

It's important to remember that if you edit a Lesson plan template before it's assigned to a room, the edit will apply once assigned. If you edit a lesson plan after it's assigned to a room, the edits will only apply to that room. A lesson plan that is the original template copy.

  1. Log in on the web

  2. Click to open the Learning page from the purple side menu

  3. From the Overview tab, click into the curriculum you wish to edit

  4. Made edits, then be sure to hit Save or Done

If you need to modify any Skills associated with a Lesson Plan, this must be done by editing the specific Learning Activity.

Rearrange Learning activity blocks

  1. Click a Learning Activity from the lesson plan

  2. Drag and drop to another day or section as needed

View Learning activity details

  1. Simply click the Learning Activity to open it

  2. View the Description and Supplies needed

  3. Add or update any applicable Notes and click Save if changes are made

Change Lesson plan name, title, and more

  • Click the ✎ icon next to the Lesson Plan's name to modify it

  • Click the ⋮ icon in the 'Theme' tile and click edit to modify the theme

  • Click + Add section to add another section to the weekly lesson plan

    • To modify a section's name, click the ✎ icon, input the name, and then Add

    • To remove a section entirely, click the ✎ icon, Remove, and then Yes, remove

  • Click the 🗑 Delete lesson plan button to completely delete the lesson plan

  • Add any Notes that will be visible to all staff


Add a Learning activity to a Lesson plan

Learning Activities can easily be added directly to already created Lesson Plan templates or a plan already assigned to a room from the Learning Activities tab on the web, or from the Learning tab on the mobile app!

This feature provides more flexibility when creating and managing lesson plans.

Print Lesson and Room Plans

  1. Log in on the web

  2. Click Learning in the sidebar menu

  3. From the Overview tab, click the desired curriculum

  4. Hit Print

  1. Log in on the web

  2. Click Learning in the sidebar menu > Library

  3. Select a Lesson plan template

💡 If you have trouble getting all the information from a lesson plan to fit on one page, change the print setting for "Page Per Sheet" from 1 to 2 for both pages.
