If you’re experiencing issues sending attendance data from brightwheel to KinderConnect or seeing approval errors from the KinderConnect report, review the scenarios below to resolve them quickly.

Students missing from the report

If students don't appear on the KinderConnect report, likely they are missing their KinderConnect ID in their brightwheel profile. Check their brightwheel profile to confirm their ID is correct and matches what is in your KinderConnect account exactly.

“Inactive KinderConnect Provider ID/password” error

This error appears when the Provider ID or password is entered incorrectly. To fix this:

  • Re-enter the Provider ID and password in your integration settings.

  • If the issue continues, contact KinderConnect to confirm your credentials.

💡 Tip: The Active indicator when entering your password and Provider ID only confirms that fields are filled in. It does not verify that the login credentials are correct.

Students have a undefined status (“-”)

A status of “-” on the KinderConnect report indicates incorrect Provider ID or password credentials. To fix this, verify and re-enter your login credentials or confirm with KinderConnect the correct ones.

Students are showing as unapproved

If a student appears as unapproved in the KinderConnect report, follow the steps below to resolve the issue. An approved status means the student’s KinderConnect ID is entered correctly and their approved attendance dates align in both brightwheel and KinderConnect.

  1. Fix any incorrect or missing KinderConnect IDs

    • Ensure the KinderConnect ID entered on a student profile in brightwheel exactly matches the ID in KinderConnect.

  2. Ensure the approval date range matches

    • When filtering by a date range in the KinderConnect report, the students included must be approved in KinderConnect for that same date range.

💡 How to check a student’s approved date range in KinderConnect

  1. Log into KinderConnect

  2. Go to Child > Search

  3. Search for the child’s name

  4. Open the child’s profile

  5. Review the approved date range under Schedules

Contact the KinderConnect Support Team if you need help adding or updating an approval date range.

I get an "Date range is invalid" message

This means you entered a future date for the start and end date. Dates on the KinderConnect report cannot be set in the future.
