CACFP guardrails automatically check meals in real time for required CACFP food components as you build or assign menus. If anything is missing, you’ll see an alert so you can fix issues early and stay compliant before meals are served or claimed.

Providers can see what items are missing by hovering over the 'Missing' info icon for more details.

This feature is on by default, so no setup needed. If you’d rather not receive alerts, you can turn off CACFP guardrails in Settings.

Enable or disable CACFP guardrails

  1. Log in to brightwheel on the web

  2. Click My School > Settings

  3. Under School Info, scroll to CACFP Guardrails

  4. Turn the setting on or off
