Welcome to Experience Assessments! With intuitive digital tools built right into brightwheel, it will be easier than ever to observe, document, and track student growth.

Get started

To get started with Experience Assessments, it’s important to first update your learning framework in brightwheel. We recommend the Experience Developmental Continuum which is aligned with all 50 states, Head Start, and NAEYC standards.

💡 Why use the Experience Developmental Continuum? Unlike many state standards built mainly as curriculum guides, the Continuum was intentionally designed as a valid and reliable framework for assessment. It translates standards into clear, sequential skills educators can observe, document, and use to support each child’s growth.

Learn more about the framework and its research-based foundation here.

Steps to select Experience Developmental Continuum as your framework

  1. Log in on the web

  2. Click My School > Settings in the sidebar menu

  3. Under the School Info tab, locate your 'Learning Settings'

  4. Select 'Experience Developmental Continuum (2025)'

Once you set your framework, we recommend referring to the Experience Assessment User Guide and taking our reliability training.
