Select the learning framework you want to use with Experience Assessments. This is the framework that you will record benchmarks in to track student progress and create visual reports.

Note: Experience Developmental Continuum (2025) is the default framework for Experience Assessments and, once selected, will always appear as an option on the framework menu.

Choosing the right learning framework

We recommend using the Experience Developmental Continuum (2025) to assess and track student growth with Experience Assessments. This learning framework is valid, reliable, and aligned to all 50 states’ early learning standards, making it easy to demonstrate compliance while supporting authentic assessment.

If your state has an approved assessment list, take a look to see if Experience Assessments are included. If your state doesn’t keep an approved list, you’re free to use Experience Assessments.

It’s important to note that while every state has its own learning standards, many were not designed to serve as assessment tools. If you prefer to use your state’s standards within Experience Assessments, confirm that they are intended for assessment before selecting them.

Additional resources

As you get started with Experience Assessments, we recommend referring to the Experience Assessment User Guide and taking our self-paced assessments training. Choose the training that matches your current curriculum: Experience Curriculum or All Other Curricula.
