If you can’t find a student in brightwheel, here are the most common reasons why and how to fix them.
Missing from the Student list
The best way to view or search for all students in brightwheel regardless of their enrollment status is by navigating to the Students tab and simply removing the ‘Active’ filter or removing any other status filters by clicking ‘x’.
Once the filter is removed, you will see all student profiles at your center regardless of enrollment status.
💡 Tip: If you are missing a student elsewhere in brightwheel, double check check the status filters at the top of the page in most reports, rooms, or Admissions.
Student missing on the mobile app
If the student appears on the web but not in the mobile app here's a few things to check.
Room assignments
Make sure the student is assigned to the correct homeroom and other rooms from their profile.
Enrollment status
The student must be marked Active to show up
Room filters in the app
To check if the room status filters are hiding these profiles, take the steps below to ensure the status selected to appear in rooms match the missing student:
From the Admin Home screen, tap Rooms
Open the room where the student is missing
Tap Manage (or the gear icon ⚙️)
Under Student Statuses, make sure Active is selected
Tap Save
Student missing from Billing
If a student isn’t showing in Billing, filters may be hiding them:
By default, Billing pages only show Active students
In most pages, you can click the X next to 'Enrollment Status] to remove the filter, or select a different status to view all students
