Message translations show each message in the language you’re most comfortable reading. A family can read a teacher’s update in Español and reply in Español, while the teacher reads that reply in English. Or, if you speak Japanese and your provider sends a message in Português, you can set Japanese as your reading language and read it in Japanese.

You can choose from up to 20 reading languages.

Translation is based on the language of the person reading, not the person writing. Everyone can write in the language they prefer, and each recipient reads the message in their own reading language.

When you send a message, it is translated for each recipient based on their reading language. When you receive a message, it appears in yours.

Translated messages are clearly marked, and you can select Show original at any time to see what the sender wrote. Messages already in your reading language stay the same.

Choose the language you want to read messages in. Messages written in other languages will now appear in yours and this only changes what you see. Other people still read messages in their own language.

Messages you receive. The messages you send, file names, and newsletters are not translated.
