Each student in brightwheel is automatically assigned a unique 10-digit invite code when their profile is created.

The invite code is automatically generated during student profile creation, which ensures unique access for each student. This code is visible only to providers and can be shared with Parent contacts to help them connect their existing brightwheel account to their child’s profile.

šŸ’” Tip: Some families may ask for their child’s ā€œschool codeā€ and they're most likely referring to the 10-digit code.

Locate a student's code

  1. Log in to brightwheel on the web

  2. Go to My School in the sidebar menu > Students

  3. Select the appropriate student

  4. Scroll down to the the Contacts section & locate the 10-digit invite code above the table

Tips for Admins

  • The invite code is exclusively for parents; other roles such as family members or approved pickups need direct administrator addition.

  • If a parent’s email or phone number hasn’t been added to the child’s profile, they can create an account and use this code to link to their child.

  • Brightwheel Support does not have the authority to provide invite codes or modify student profiles, ensuring security remains with the program administrator

FAQs

What if a parent lost their 10-digit code?

You can always locate the code on the child's profile. The parent should contact their provider directly to request it.

Can I change a student's 10-digit code?

Recreating the student's profile will provide a new code. A child's code cannot be regenerated manually for an existing profile.
