Brightwheel has begun releasing our new billing platform for new users. If the content in this article does not match what you see in your account, we are actively working to release these features for you as soon as possible. We appreciate your patience as we work to continue to improve your brightwheel billing experience.

One option when setting up billing plans for students of divorced families, is creating two separate billing plans and labeling them to correspond with each parent. The parents would both still get email notifications for new invoices they receive, but when they log into their account they'd have the option of paying them individually.

For example, you could name them something like "{Parent 1 name} childcare" and "{Parent 2 name} childcare". Then you would split the cost of monthly/weekly tuition evenly between the two.

PLEASE NOTE: If one parent has auto pay on, both invoices will trigger for payment on the due date by that parent. Both parents must have auto pay off and manually pay the invoices on their dashboard.

A second option requires you to turn on the partial payment setting. You can send one invoice to both parents and create a line item for each parent. They can then login and make a partial payment against the invoice for their amount due only!

PLEASE NOTE: If one parent has auto pay on, the full total of the invoice will trigger for payment on the due date by that parent. Both parents must have auto pay off and manually pay the invoice on their dashboard.
