Learning with Experience Curriculum: Access supplemental curriculum digitally

Learn how to view and use supplemental curriculum digitally in brightwheel.

Supplemental curriculum that previously came only in physical kits is now available digitally in brightwheel. You can browse these activities, add them to your lesson plans, and access them in the app just like core Experience Curriculum content.

This resource walks you through how to add supplemental curriculum to your lesson plans, how to find them in brightwheel, and tips for using your specific curriculum.

Available supplemental curriculum

Our team is actively working to bring more supplemental curriculum products (such as Little Learners, More Math & Literacy) into a digital format.

View and filter for supplemental curriculum

To find your purchased curriculum, just filter for supplemental curriculum when browsing your lessons and activities.

  1. Log in on the web

  2. Click Learning in the sidebar > Library tab

  3. Choose Lesson plan templates or Learning activities

  4. Select Show filters

  5. Filter by Product line to select available supplemental curriculum (e.g., Experience God)

💡 Tip: You can also filter supplemental learning activities by theme to help narrow down your search.

Add supplemental curriculum to a lesson plan

  1. Go to the Learning > Lesson plan templates tab

  2. Click the desired lesson plan

  3. Hit the plus + sign or Add learning activity under a specific day

  4. Filter by Product line to select from the available supplemental curriculum

  5. Click Add

💡 Tip: To keep lesson plans organized, create a dedicated section in your lesson plan for supplemental activities. Tap + Add section, name it (for example, “Supplemental Activities”), and keep all supplemental content grouped there.

Tips for incorporating supplemental curriculum

Experience God

If you’ve purchased the Experience God curriculum, you can schedule lesson activities for weekends. This is especially helpful for programs using Experience God for Sunday programming.

Include weekends on plans

  1. Open the relevant lesson plan

  2. At the top, toggle Weekends on

  3. Add supplemental activities to Saturday or Sunday as needed

How monthly plans are organized

You’ll receive one digital lesson plan in brightwheel each month, which includes all Experience God activities for that month. Each day in the plan lines up with the corresponding Sunday and weekly themes from the physical kits.

For example, to view all digital activities for Week 1 in the physical kit, open that month’s lesson plan and check the activities listed under Monday for that week. Here’s how each month is organized:

  • Monday = Week 1

  • Tuesday = Week 2

  • Wednesday = Week 3

  • Thursday = Week 4

FAQs

Can I customize my supplemental curriculum?

You can choose which activities to include in your lesson plans, but the curriculum content itself can’t be edited.

Can I automatically assign supplemental curriculum to a specific room?

Supplemental curriculum isn’t automatically assigned to rooms like core Experience Curriculum (such as Experience Toddler or Experience Baby). Because it’s designed as add-on content, you’ll assign it manually when you add it to a lesson plan and choose the room.
